Alan L. Busch

Founding Partner

I still love what I do, but I don’t care as much as I used to about maintaining credentials and have decided to let some lapse over time. I was voted a Texas Super Lawyer* by my peers over many years. Until recently, I was one of approximately 25 lawyers in Texas who are Board Certified in both Civil Trial Law and Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. However, I’ve let my Board Certification in Labor and Employment lapse and the Civil Trial Law certification will lapse this year.

Alan L. Busch was born in New York, NY, and received his B.B.A. from the University of Texas, cum laude, in 1977 and his J.D. in 1980 from Southern Methodist University. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1980 and is admitted to practice by the Supreme Court of Texas; the United States Supreme Court; the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit; and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Western and Eastern Districts of Texas.

“Alan’s practice areas include all aspects of business litigation, including investment litigation, Director & Officer litigation, non-compete, trade secret and other aspects of employment litigation and bankruptcy litigation. His experience is broader than those categories, and upon special request Alan will consider undertaking other unique matters that don’t fit into a fixed category.”

A former associate at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP, Alan brings the expertise of a large firm to strategically selected practice areas with a high level of accountability and responsiveness. Alan has made sure his clients’ best interests have been represented throughout his career as a driving force and founder of his law firms.

Alan loves the practice of law. Alan was fired as little league coach as his son got older, so in his spare time Alan has acquired some other skills and certifications. He is a certified yoga instructor, FAA multi-engine and instrument rated pilot, certified mediator, (formerly) single digit handicap golfer and regularly runs 10k barefoot.
